Private Limited Company Registration in Andhra Pradesh
Register your Pvt Ltd company anywhere in Andhra Pradesh with a CA-led team — SPICe+ filing, DSC, DIN, name approval, MoA & AoA drafting, PAN, TAN and GST, filed with RoC Vijayawada for all 26 districts. One thing worth knowing before you hire anyone: Andhra Pradesh profession tax has two limbs, and the second one is assessed on your business's turnover rather than on anybody's salary.
- Filed with RoC Vijayawada
- Both profession tax limbs set up
- DSC & DIN for all directors
- PAN, TAN & CIN included
- One Registrar — no INC-23 inside the state
- FDI & FEMA practice in-house
Andhra Pradesh Profession Tax Has Two Limbs, Not One
Almost every page about profession tax in Andhra Pradesh — including an earlier version of this one — opens with the words "once you hire staff" and then gives the salary slabs. That is accurate as far as it goes, and it stops one limb short.
Andhra Pradesh levies profession tax under the Andhra Pradesh State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Act, 1987, in force from 15 June 1987. It reaches both the people a business employs and the business itself.
Limb one — on salaries
| Monthly salary | Per month |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹15,000 | Nil |
| ₹15,001 – ₹20,000 | ₹150 |
| Above ₹20,000 | ₹200 |
₹2,400 a year at the top slab, inside the ₹2,500 annual ceiling set by Article 276 of the Constitution. Deducted and remitted by the employer by the 10th of the following month.
Limb two — on the business, by turnover
| Annual turnover | Per year |
|---|---|
| Below ₹10 lakh | Nil |
| ₹10 lakh – ₹25 lakh | ₹2,000 |
| Above ₹25 lakh | ₹2,500 |
Reported to reach contractors, factory owners and hospitality establishments among others. This one has nothing to do with your payroll.
Why the distinction is not academic.
A company trading in Andhra Pradesh with real turnover and no employees — a consultancy run by its two founder-directors, a trading company, a holding entity with contract revenue — would read the standard "once you hire staff" framing and reasonably conclude it owed nothing. On the turnover limb it may well owe ₹2,500 a year regardless. The amount is small; discovering it late, with interest, in the middle of a due diligence, is not.
One more provision worth knowing, and it is unusually generous. Newly registered self-employed professionals — legal practitioners, chartered accountants, engineers, doctors and similar callings — are reported to pay no profession tax for five years from registration, after which the annual amount becomes ₹2,500. If you are a professional setting up in Andhra Pradesh rather than a company hiring in it, that is worth establishing at the outset rather than discovering in year six. We have this from two independent sources and would confirm it against your enrolment position before relying on it.
Both limbs and the deadline above are verified against two independent sources. Check other states with our profession tax state finder — noting that a tool built around monthly salary slabs cannot by itself represent a turnover-based limb, which is one of the reasons we are rebuilding it.
Two Bifurcations, Two Opposite Outcomes
India has split four large states in living memory, and two of those splits are directly comparable: both produced a pair of states that inherited one profession tax statute between them. They have ended up in completely different places, and the reason is instructive if you operate on both sides of either line.
| Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh | Andhra Pradesh & Telangana | |
|---|---|---|
| Split on | 1 November 2000 | 2 June 2014 |
| Shared statute inherited | The 1995 Vritti Kar Adhiniyam | The 1987 Act on professions, trades, callings and employments |
| Where profession tax stands now | Completely diverged. MP applies it on annual slabs with uneven monthly deductions. Chhattisgarh exempted its salaried class by notification in 2011. | Still identical. Same slabs, same ₹15,000 and ₹20,000 thresholds, same ₹150 and ₹200, same 10th-of-the-month deadline. |
| Registrars | Gwalior · Bilaspur | Vijayawada · Hyderabad |
| Regional Directorate | Ahmedabad · Hyderabad — different | Hyderabad · Hyderabad — the same |
So twenty-six years after the first split, the two halves of undivided Madhya Pradesh tax salaries under different regimes and answer to Regional Directors in opposite corners of India. Twelve years after the second, the two halves of undivided Andhra Pradesh tax salaries identically and answer to the same Regional Director in Hyderabad. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remain considerably more entangled than Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh ever were.
The pattern worth taking away, offered as an observation rather than a law.
Bifurcated states diverge on what each government chooses to legislate afresh, not on what they inherit. Inherited tax law is sticky. Nobody gets political credit for rewriting a profession tax schedule, so it sits untouched for decades until something forces the question. What each state does reach for early is the framework it wants to be judged on — which is exactly where Andhra Pradesh and Telangana did part company, as the next section shows. Two cases is an observation, not a rule, and we would not push it further than that.
Where Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Genuinely Diverged
Both states committed to fast, time-bound industrial clearances within about a year of separating. They chose different instruments to do it, and the difference is the sort of thing that only matters when something goes wrong — which is when it matters a great deal.
| Telangana — TS-iPASS | Andhra Pradesh — Single Desk | |
|---|---|---|
| Instrument | An Act — TS-iPASS Act 2014 (Act 3 of 2014) | A policy — AP Single Desk Policy 2015-20 |
| Headline timeline | 30 days for clearances; 15 days for mega projects | 21 working days for all clearances to set up |
| Component timelines | Set out in the statute | 3–21 days pre-establishment; 7–21 days pre-operation |
| Deemed approval | Yes, where the Government notifies the clearance | Yes for select approvals, based on self-certification |
| If they miss the deadline | A statutory right to clearances, with penalties on the designated officers | No penalties specified; responsibility is stated to lie with the department's Head of Department |
Read that as a trade-off rather than a scoreboard. Andhra Pradesh promises a faster turnaround — 21 working days against 30 — and for a straightforward project a faster promise is worth having. Telangana promises a slower one but puts it in a statute and attaches consequences to missing it. Which suits you depends on whether your project is the kind that sails through or the kind that needs something enforceable when a department goes quiet.
How firmly we are standing behind each half, stated precisely — because they are not equal.
The Telangana figures are section numbers we read in the bare Act on India Code. The Andhra Pradesh figures are from the Single Desk Policy document itself — and that document says the Industries and Commerce Department "shall examine and ensure that enabling provisions are made in concerned Acts / Rules", which is to say the policy does not cite its own governing Act. We are not going to pretend a policy commitment and a statutory right are the same kind of thing, and we would rather tell you which one you have.
Andhra Pradesh Doubled Its Districts — and the Company Layer Never Moved
On 4 April 2022 Andhra Pradesh inaugurated 13 new districts, taking the state from 13 to 26. It doubled its district map in a day, and unlike some other recent reorganisations, it held.
Across these state pages we have now met four versions of the same story, and they resolved very differently:
| State | What happened | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi | Reorganised 11 → 13 districts from 1 January 2026 | A mismatch was created — the MCA notification defines Registrar territory by naming districts, and the February 2026 jurisdictions still name a district that no longer exists |
| Telangana | 33 districts since 2016; a reorganisation commission announced 12 January 2026 | Under review; nothing notified |
| Rajasthan | Created 19 new districts, then dissolved 9 on 31 December 2024 | Largely reversed inside eighteen months |
| Andhra Pradesh | 13 → 26 districts, 4 April 2022 | The largest of the four, and it stuck |
And here is the reassuring part, which is true for the same structural reason it was true in Telangana and Rajasthan. Andhra Pradesh has one Registrar for the whole state. There is no district line inside RoC Vijayawada's territory for a boundary change to disturb. So when the map doubled: no CIN changed, no company filed anything, no section 12(5) question arose, and a company incorporated in 2021 has exactly the same Registrar, Regional Director and obligations today as it did before.
What did move sits one layer down — trade licences, shops and establishments registrations, District Industries Centre dealings, the district named on agreements and utility connections, and any incentive claim keyed to a district name. The lesson these four cases share: a district name is not a stable identifier to build compliance on.
One Registrar at Vijayawada
RoC Vijayawada has jurisdiction over the whole of Andhra Pradesh — Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati, Nellore, Kurnool, Kakinada, Rajahmundry and every one of the 26 districts. Andhra Pradesh does not appear in the February 2026 reorganisation of Registrars, so the position is unchanged.
Because there is only one, the question that causes real difficulty in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu cannot arise here at all. The proviso to section 12(5) of the Companies Act 2013, read with rule 28 of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules 2014, requires Regional Director confirmation in Form INC-23 only when a registered office crosses from one Registrar's jurisdiction to another within the same state. That needs two Registrars inside one state.
In Andhra Pradesh
- Visakhapatnam to Tirupati — nearly the length of the state, and still a plain INC-22
- Vijayawada to Kurnool — plain INC-22
- Guntur to Kakinada — plain INC-22
- No Regional Director, no INC-23, no hearing, wherever you move inside the state
Where it does bite
- Maharashtra — four Registrars inside one state
- Tamil Nadu — a 50 km move can cross a line while a 700 km move does not
- Uttar Pradesh — more than one jurisdiction inside the state
- Anywhere Registrar territory is defined by naming districts, a reorganisation can create a mismatch — as it did in Delhi
Your Regional Director Is in Hyderabad
Under the reorganisation of Regional Directorates effective 16 February 2026, Andhra Pradesh falls in the South-Eastern Region, with its directorate at Hyderabad, covering Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Telangana.
Which means that twelve years after bifurcation, an Andhra Pradesh company still takes its Regional Director matters to Hyderabad — in the state it separated from. That is a straightforward administrative fact rather than a curiosity, and it has a practical edge: if your group has entities on both sides of the 2014 line, their Registrars differ but their Regional Director does not. A compounding application, a condonation of delay or a scheme under section 233 for either entity goes to the same office.
We quote the four-state allocation from the notification itself. Routine work never touches the Regional Director — SPICe+ is filed online, the certificate arrives by email, and annual filings require no travel.
RoC Vijayawada, Regional Directorate, GST & AO Code
Registrar of Companies
RoC Vijayawada — all incorporations, name approvals and ROC filings for the whole of Andhra Pradesh, handled online.
Regional Director
South-Eastern Region, Hyderabad — Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Telangana, since 16 February 2026.
PAN & TAN AO code
Assigned from your Andhra Pradesh registered-office jurisdiction, not from where the directors live.
Profession tax
Two limbs — salary slabs remitted by the 10th, and a turnover-based levy on the business itself.
State agencies
APIIC for industrial infrastructure and land, and the State Pollution Control Board for consents.
Company Registration Across Andhra Pradesh
Every one of these files with the same Registrar, on the same form, to the same timetable. The differences are commercial, not procedural.
Visakhapatnam
The state's largest city and a major port, with steel, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and a growing IT and services base. The deepest talent pool in Andhra Pradesh.
Vijayawada & Guntur
The commercial heart of the Krishna delta, and the seat of your Registrar. Trading, distribution, agri-commerce and professional services.
Tirupati
An electronics manufacturing cluster alongside one of the largest pilgrimage economies in India — an unusual combination, and both halves are real.
Sri City
An integrated business city close to the Tamil Nadu border, built for manufacturing and warehousing with Chennai's port and airport within reach.
Kakinada & Krishnapatnam
Port-linked industry, bulk handling and energy. Andhra Pradesh has one of the longest coastlines of any Indian state and it is genuinely used.
Nellore, Kurnool & Rajahmundry
Regional centres for aquaculture, agri-processing, minerals and distribution across the south and west of the state.
Where Andhra Pradesh Is Genuinely Strong
Coastline and ports
One of the longest coastlines in India, with Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Krishnapatnam and Gangavaram serving real cargo. For anything import-led, export-led or bulk, that is structural rather than promotional.
Aquaculture and seafood export
A genuinely significant national position, with the processing, cold chain and export documentation economy that goes with it.
A 21-working-day clearance promise
The Single Desk framework targets all set-up clearances inside 21 working days, with deemed approval on select items. Read the section above for what kind of commitment that is.
Electronics and pharma clusters
Tirupati for electronics manufacturing, Visakhapatnam for pharmaceuticals and petrochemicals — established clusters rather than aspirations.
One Registrar, 26 districts
Move anywhere inside the state on a plain INC-22. No Regional Director confirmation, no INC-23, no hearing — a genuine administrative simplification.
What we will say plainly
Andhra Pradesh's industrial policy offers capital, power and reimbursement benefits. We publish no percentages, because we could not verify current entitlements against a primary source.
Instant Cost Estimator — Pvt Ltd in Andhra Pradesh
Get an indicative professional-fee estimate based on your company structure. Government fees (ROC, stamp duty, DSC tokens) are charged at actuals and confirmed on your free call.
Setting up an Indian subsidiary for an overseas parent? The cost structure is different — use our foreign subsidiary set-up cost estimator instead.
Stamp Duty on MoA & AoA in Andhra Pradesh
Stamp duty on the Memorandum and Articles is a state levy, collected automatically when SPICe+ is filed, and in Andhra Pradesh it is linked to authorised share capital.
We do not publish a rate here, and that is deliberate. The schedule is amended from time to time, a table published today goes quietly out of date, and a founder who budgets from a stale figure finds out at the filing stage. We quote Andhra Pradesh duty against your actual authorised capital and confirm it before filing. There is a planning point in this too: where duty scales with capital there is a real cost to setting authorised capital higher than you presently need — and no advantage, since it can be increased later when there is a reason to.
The MCA charges no government filing fee on authorised capital up to ₹15 lakh. Estimate the rest with our MCA fee calculator and company stamp duty calculator.
Step-by-Step Registration Procedure
Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
Every proposed director and subscriber needs a Class 3 DSC. Indian nationals with Aadhaar complete video KYC the same day; a foreign director needs a passport-based application and usually an apostilled or consularised document set. 1–2 working days for a domestic file.
Director Identification Number (DIN)
Allotted inside SPICe+ for up to three first directors, so there is no separate DIR-3 for a standard incorporation. An existing DIN is reused — a director does not collect a second one.
Name reservation and approval
Through SPICe+ Part A or RUN. This is where most delay actually happens, not at the Registrar. A name is refused if it resembles an existing company or a registered trademark, or uses a restricted word. We check the MCA index and the trademark register before filing, and we file two options. 1–3 working days.
Drafting MoA and AoA
The objects clause should describe what the company will actually do, including what it may do in two years. The Articles decide share transfers, board control and how disputes resolve — a template becomes expensive at exactly the moment it matters.
Filing SPICe+ with RoC Vijayawada
SPICe+ Part B with linked forms — eMoA (INC-33), eAoA (INC-34), AGILE-PRO-S (INC-35) and INC-9. PAN, TAN, EPFO, ESIC and a bank account are applied for in the same filing, and Andhra Pradesh stamp duty is collected at this stage. Note that profession tax registration through AGILE-PRO-S covers only three states — Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal — so in Andhra Pradesh both profession tax limbs are separate registrations taken after incorporation, not something SPICe+ handles for you.
Certificate of Incorporation, PAN and TAN
The certificate issues with the CIN, and PAN and TAN follow electronically. GST is a separate application once you have the certificate and a registered-office proof.
Post-incorporation setup
Bank account activation, deposit of subscription money, INC-20A within 180 days, first board meeting within 30 days, and auditor appointment in ADT-1 within 30 days. Where foreign money is coming in, the FEMA clock starts here rather than later.
Documents Required for Registration
For Indian directors and shareholders
- PAN card — mandatory, and the name must match everywhere
- Aadhaar, plus passport, voter ID or driving licence
- Bank statement, or electricity, mobile or telephone bill, not older than two months
- Passport-size photograph
- Email address and mobile linked to Aadhaar for OTP
For a foreign parent or foreign director
- Passport — apostilled (Hague Convention countries) or consularised
- Proof of address, similarly apostilled or consularised
- Board resolution of the overseas parent authorising the subscription and naming its authorised signatory
- Certificate of incorporation and charter documents of the parent
- Certified translation where documents are not in English
For the registered office in Andhra Pradesh
- Latest electricity or utility bill for the premises
- Rent agreement, where rented
- No-objection certificate from the owner
- Sale deed or property document, where owned
The address must be one at which you can actually receive statutory correspondence — the Registrar can and does verify it, in person, under rule 25B of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules 2014.
Timeline & Cost Overview
| Stage | Typical time | What decides it |
|---|---|---|
| DSC for all directors | 1–2 working days | Same day for Indian directors with Aadhaar OTP; longer if a foreign director needs apostilled documents |
| Name approval | 1–3 working days | The most common cause of delay — resemblance to an existing name or a registered trademark |
| SPICe+ drafting and signing | 1–2 working days | How quickly signed documents come back |
| RoC Vijayawada processing | 2–4 working days | Completeness of the file; a resubmission restarts this stage |
| Total, clean file | 7–10 working days | Assumes documents ready and no name rejection |
| GST registration | 3–7 working days after incorporation | Separate application; physical verification may be required |
FDI, FEMA and the Filings That Follow Incorporation
If any part of the shareholding is foreign, incorporation is the beginning of a compliance sequence rather than the end of one. This is where most subsidiaries quietly accumulate defaults.
Entry route
Most sectors are on the automatic route, needing no prior approval. Some require government approval and some carry conditions on the activity itself. Establish this before the money moves — restructuring afterwards is expensive.
Entity Master and the Single Master Form
The company registers on the RBI’s FIRMS portal, files the Entity Master and reports through the Single Master Form. Nothing else can be filed until this exists.
Pricing and valuation
Shares issued to a non-resident must be at or above fair value, supported by a valuation certificate under the prescribed methodology.
Form FC-GPR
Filed within 30 days of allotment, with the valuation certificate and the company secretary’s certificate. The deadline most often missed.
Annual FLA return
Due by 15 July every year for any company with foreign investment on its books — including years with no new investment.
Form FC-TRS on transfers
Any transfer of shares between a resident and a non-resident is reported in FC-TRS within 60 days, including transfers between existing shareholders.
Related: foreign subsidiary company setup, Form FC-GPR, FLA return and transfer pricing. STPI registration and Softex filing are relevant for the IT and services base at Visakhapatnam. If the structure is a branch, liaison or project office rather than a subsidiary, see branch office registration.
Licences & Registrations Applicable in Andhra Pradesh
Applies to almost every Andhra Pradesh company
- Profession tax — both limbs: employer and employee registration for the salary slabs, and the turnover-based levy on the business itself
- Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments registration for any commercial premises with staff
- GST registration — above the threshold, and immediately for inter-state supply, e-commerce and exports
- Udyam (MSME) registration — free, and it unlocks the 45-day payment protection
- EPFO and ESIC — applied for through AGILE-PRO-S; obligations bite at the statutory headcounts
- POSH — an internal committee is mandatory at ten or more employees
Sector and project-specific
- APIIC plot allotment and transfer approvals
- State incentive registration and eligibility certification, and Single Desk clearance filings
- Coastal Regulation Zone and port-related approvals, where the site is near the coast — a real feature of this state rather than a footnote
- Consent to establish, then consent to operate from the State Pollution Control Board — before construction, not after
- Factories Act licence and labour department approvals
- Import Export Code and AD Code for anything crossing a customs frontier
- FSSAI, drug licence, PESO and sector registrations as applicable
- Trademark registration — in the company’s name, not a founder’s
Why Choose TAXAJ for Your Andhra Pradesh Company
We register both profession tax limbs
The salary slabs are the half everybody covers. The turnover-based levy on the business itself is the half that catches out a company with revenue and no payroll. We set up both, or establish properly that neither applies.
We verify the statute, not just the rate
Rates are easy to copy and easy to get right. A statute's short title and year are what a professional citation actually rests on, and we check those against the bare Act or the state's own portal before they go on a page.
We tell you where your file actually sits
Your Registrar is at Vijayawada and your Regional Director is at Hyderabad. If your group straddles the 2014 line, the Registrars differ but the Regional Director does not — which is useful to know before you need it.
We know what kind of promise you have
A 21-working-day policy commitment and a statutory right with penalties on officials are different instruments. We will tell you which one your project is relying on rather than quoting the headline number at you.
India entry, end to end
Apostille chains, entry route, valuation, Entity Master, FC-GPR, FLA, FC-TRS and transfer pricing — the work that decides whether a subsidiary runs cleanly or accumulates a backlog.
We label what we have verified
On this page you will see us stand behind Telangana's clearance timelines more firmly than Andhra Pradesh's, and say why. You will also see figures we declined to publish. We work the same way on a file.
TAXAJ does not have an office in Andhra Pradesh. We serve clients across the state from our offices in Delhi, Bengaluru, Darbhanga and Porvorim, and the entire incorporation is online — DSC by video KYC, documents by secure upload, filings through the MCA portal. We say this plainly because a firm that invents a local address on its website is telling you something about how it will handle yours.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the profession tax in Andhra Pradesh?
There are two limbs. On salaries: nil up to ₹15,000 a month, ₹150 from ₹15,001 to ₹20,000, and ₹200 above ₹20,000 — ₹2,400 a year at the top slab, inside the ₹2,500 ceiling Article 276 of the Constitution sets. On the business itself, by annual turnover: nil below ₹10 lakh, ₹2,000 from ₹10 lakh to ₹25 lakh, and ₹2,500 above ₹25 lakh. The governing law is the Andhra Pradesh State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Act, 1987, in force from 15 June 1987.
We have turnover but no employees. Do we still owe profession tax?
Possibly yes, and this is the point most pages miss. The salary limb depends on having staff; the turnover limb does not. A consultancy run by its two founder-directors, a trading company or an entity with contract revenue and no payroll can still fall inside the turnover-based levy — reported at ₹2,500 a year above ₹25 lakh of turnover. The framing "once you hire staff" makes the whole levy sound conditional on payroll, and it is not.
When is Andhra Pradesh profession tax due?
The employer remits the salary-limb deduction by the 10th of the following month — the same deadline as Telangana, and among the earliest of any state. A payroll calendar built for a state with a 15th or 20th deadline will be late every single month.
Is there any exemption for newly qualified professionals?
Reportedly yes, and it is unusually generous. Newly registered self-employed professionals — legal practitioners, chartered accountants, engineers, doctors and similar callings — are reported to pay no profession tax for five years from registration, after which the annual amount becomes ₹2,500. We have this from two independent sources and would confirm it against your enrolment position before you rely on it.
Which Registrar of Companies handles Andhra Pradesh?
RoC Vijayawada, for the whole state and all 26 districts — Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati, Nellore, Kurnool, Kakinada, Rajahmundry and everywhere else. Andhra Pradesh does not appear in the February 2026 MCA reorganisation of Registrars, so the position is unchanged.
Who is an Andhra Pradesh company's Regional Director?
The South-Eastern Region directorate at Hyderabad, covering Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Telangana under the reorganisation effective 16 February 2026. Twelve years after bifurcation an Andhra Pradesh company still takes Regional Director matters to Hyderabad. If your group has entities on both sides of the 2014 line, their Registrars differ but their Regional Director does not.
Can I move my registered office within Andhra Pradesh later?
Yes, easily. With a single Registrar for the entire state, any move inside Andhra Pradesh is a plain INC-22 — Visakhapatnam to Tirupati is nearly the length of the state and still needs nothing more. The proviso to section 12(5) of the Companies Act 2013, which requires Regional Director confirmation in Form INC-23 under rule 28, only bites when you cross from one Registrar's jurisdiction to another within a state. In Andhra Pradesh that cannot happen.
Andhra Pradesh doubled its districts in 2022. Did that affect companies?
No, and it structurally could not have. Thirteen new districts were inaugurated on 4 April 2022, taking the state from 13 to 26. Because Andhra Pradesh has one Registrar, there is no district line inside RoC Vijayawada's territory for a boundary change to disturb — no CIN changed and nothing was filed. What did move is one layer down: trade licences, shops and establishments, District Industries Centre dealings, the district named on agreements, and any incentive claim keyed to a district name.
How does Andhra Pradesh's Single Desk compare with Telangana's TS-iPASS?
Andhra Pradesh's Single Desk Policy 2015-20 targets all clearances to set up industry within 21 working days, with deemed approval on select items based on self-certification. Telangana's TS-iPASS Act 2014 sets 30 days (15 for mega projects) but does it in a statute, with a right to clearances and penalties on the designated officers. So Andhra Pradesh promises faster and Telangana promises harder. Note that we cite section numbers for Telangana because we read the bare Act; the Andhra Pradesh figures come from the policy document, which itself says enabling provisions are still to be made in the concerned Acts and Rules.
Why do Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have identical profession tax?
Because both inherited the same 1987 statute at the 2014 bifurcation and neither has changed it — same slabs, same thresholds, same deadline. The contrast with Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is instructive: they split in 2000 with a shared 1995 Act and have diverged completely, with Chhattisgarh exempting its salaried class in 2011. Inherited tax law tends to be sticky; states express themselves in the frameworks they legislate afresh.
How much is stamp duty on incorporation in Andhra Pradesh?
It is linked to authorised share capital and the schedule is amended from time to time, so we quote it against your actual capital rather than publishing a table that goes stale. The planning point is that where duty scales with capital, there is a real cost to setting authorised capital higher than you presently need — and no advantage, since it can be raised later when there is a reason to.
Do I need to be in Andhra Pradesh to register a company there?
No. The whole process is online — DSC through Aadhaar OTP or video KYC, documents by secure upload and filing through the MCA portal. TAXAJ has no Andhra Pradesh office; we serve clients across the state from Delhi, Bengaluru, Darbhanga and Porvorim. You will need a genuine registered-office address in Andhra Pradesh, which the Registrar can and does verify, and it must be an address at which you can actually receive statutory correspondence.
