What we do

PMEGP project report

A detailed project report built to the scheme's limits: project cost without land, working capital within the cap, means of finance, repayment schedule and projected profit, in the format banks score.

PMEGP application support

Help with the online application on the KVIC portal, category and area documents, Udyam registration, and the EDP training that must be done before the subsidy is claimed.

Udyami Yojana spending plan

A budget for each instalment drawn up against the department's model project report for your chosen project, so every rupee goes on items the DIC will accept.

Utilisation certificates

Checking vouchers and GST bills, matching them to the current-account statement, and preparing the UC and photographs for upload within the 90-day window.

Physical verification readiness

For PMEGP units nearing the third-party geo-tagged verification, books, stock and asset records that show the unit is running as financed.

Books, GST and income tax

Once the unit runs: monthly accounts, GST registration and returns, and income tax returns, which banks ask for at every renewal.

Subsidy lock-inHeld as a term deposit for three years and adjusted against the loan only after a positive physical verification
Second loanFor upgrading a successful PMEGP unit: up to ₹1 crore (manufacturing) or ₹25 lakh (service), with 15% subsidy
Scheme status: PMEGP was approved for 2021-22 to 2025-26. In August 2026 the Ministry of MSME told Parliament that continuation beyond 31 March 2026 was under consideration, and releases of new margin money depend on that approval. Applications and bank loans can still be prepared, but no one can promise the subsidy until the extension is approved.

How a PMEGP project report is assessed

  1. Agency scrutiny. The KVIC, KVIB or DIC scores the application and report out of 100; projects up to ₹10 lakh need at least 50 and larger projects 60.
  2. Bank appraisal. The bank checks viability, repayment capacity over three to seven years and the working-capital assessment, and should decide within about 30 days.
  3. Own contribution and EDP. After sanction, the applicant deposits the own contribution and completes entrepreneurship training before the margin money is claimed.
  4. Verification. The unit is verified on the ground, with geo-tagged photographs, before the subsidy is finally adjusted.

Activities on the PMEGP negative list, such as liquor, tobacco products, meat, thin polythene carry bags and crop cultivation, cannot be financed. Value addition on farm produce, dairy, poultry and fisheries units are allowed.

Our step-by-step guide covers what happens after selection under Udyami Yojana: training, the current account, the three instalments and the utilisation certificate.

Why instalments get held up

  • Utilisation certificate uploaded late, or less than 90% of the previous instalment spent.
  • Machinery bought without a GST invoice, or paid in cash instead of to the supplier's bank account.
  • Cash payments above ₹10,000.
  • Spending above the limits for site preparation, electricity connection or rent advance in the first instalment, or a rent advance paid to a parent or grandparent.
  • Second-phase training missed twice.
  • Unit set up outside the home district, or the project changed from the one selected.

Most of these are avoidable with a budget fixed before the first rupee is spent and a voucher file kept from day one. That is the part we do.

Other Bihar schemes we help with

  • Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana: a grant of up to ₹2 lakh, in three instalments, for families with monthly income below ₹6,000.
  • Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package: project reports and incentive claims for larger units. See our project report service.
  • Food processing: PMFME support for makhana and other food units. Read our guide to starting a makhana business in Bihar.

Frequently asked questions

Is a project report compulsory for a PMEGP loan?

Yes. The online application needs a project report, and the implementing agency and the bank both assess it. A report that keeps within the scheme's caps on working capital and project cost, and shows realistic sales, scores better.

Do I need my own project report for Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana?

The department sanctions each project against its own model project report. What beneficiaries need is a spending plan that follows that model report and records that support the utilisation certificate.

When must the Udyami Yojana utilisation certificate be uploaded?

Within 90 days of receiving each instalment. Beneficiaries of 2022-23 to 2024-25 with pending certificates have a final chance until 10 November 2026 under the department's notice of 23 October 2026.

Can I get PMEGP after taking Udyami Yojana, or the other way round?

Udyami Yojana excludes earlier beneficiaries of PMEGP and other industries department schemes. PMEGP is for new units only, so a unit already financed under another government subsidy scheme will not qualify.

How much is the PMEGP subsidy for a woman in a rural area?

35% of the project cost, as women are in the special category. The own contribution is 5% and the bank lends the rest.
