Go To The Official Website Of Income Tax Department.
You can now file your income tax return online with ease. All you need to do is visit the official website of the income tax department and follow the instructions given there.
Select The Type Of Return You Want To File.
There are two main types of income tax returns – Individual and HUF (Hindu Undivided Family). If you are filing as an individual, then select ‘Individual’ option. If you are filing jointly, then select ‘Joint’ option.
Enter All Required Details And Submit.
You will need to enter details such as name, address, PAN number, etc. Once you have entered all required details, click on ‘Submit’ button.
Download Your Form 16/16A As PDF.
If you are filing your return using e-filing facility, then you will receive an email with the link to download your form 16/16A. Click on the link provided in the mail and fill up the form. After filling up the form, submit it by clicking on ‘submit’ button.
Print Out A Copy For Self-Attestation.
You must print out a copy of the Form 16/16A along with the self-attested signature of the taxpayer. This is required to be submitted to the Assessing Officer at his/her office within 15 days of the date of submission of the return.
