What is a job card number?
Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), every registered household is issued a job card with a unique job card number. This number is your key to claiming work and wages under the scheme, and you need it to obtain a duplicate if the physical card is lost or damaged.
How to search your job card number online
Step 1: Open the NREGA (Ministry of Rural Development) portal at https://nrega.nic.in/Netnrega/stHome.aspx and choose your state or union territory from the list. All States and UTs have their own Gram Panchayat module link.
Step 2: On the state page, go to the Gram Panchayat > Generate Reports (Job Card) section.
Step 3: Select the Financial Year, District, Block and Gram Panchayat, then click Proceed. The portal generates a report listing job card numbers along with the names of registered persons.
Step 4: Click the job card number against the name you want. This opens the complete MGNREGA job card details.
Step 5: You can then view and download the job card for your records or to apply for work.
Searching by name if you do not have the number
If you do not know your job card number, you can still find it using the same state-wise report. Because the report lists names alongside job card numbers, simply locate your name (or a family member’s name) in your Gram Panchayat’s list to identify the corresponding job card number.

Keep a note of your job card number somewhere safe once you find it. Even if you lose both the card and the number, the NREGA portal’s Gram Panchayat reports let you recover the details using your state, district, block and panchayat.
